Prior to Mindy's death she asked several friends to help spread the message that suicide is preventable.  Mindy wanted to help others but she was ashamed of her own diagnosis which led her to  refuse treatment which ultimately led to her death.

Mindy's spirit is with us and together we will continue the good work she started.

Our mission is to honor Mindy's last wishes and help end the stigma associated with depression, co-dependence and addiction.  We will be pairing with other charities, most importantly the Americation Federation for Suicide Prevention (www.AFSP.org)  to bring awareness to therapies and programs available nationwide so each individual can have access to the help they deserve.

A barrier that keeps many people from going into treatment is when they have pets that they would have to give up or abandon in order to seek long term treatment.  It is our intention to ease that barrier by supporting programs such as: www.SPCAla.com and to raise funds to support the SPCA in opening similar programs across the country similar to the one in Los Angeles so that people going into recovery can rest assured that their pet will be well cared for while they focus on recovery.

From Grace, for years I lived in excruciating pain.  I didn't have a purpose or desire to live.   A cat came into my life and loved me so much that I wanted to get better so I could take care of him so I understand the bond people can have with their animals and not wanting to part with them.
